Summary or Abstract : This study focused on the attachment of older adolescents to their parents and the impact that their level of attachment to mother and to father, as well as the adolescent-parent relationship, had on the adolescent's self-esteem and their relationally aggressive behaviors. The sample consisted of 260 older adolescent males ( n = 82) and females ( n = 178) between the ages of 18 to 21 years. Mean age was 19.34. Participants were attending a community college or a large university in the southwest. They completed instruments measuring attachment to mother and attachment to father, parent-adolescent conflict, parent-adolescent involvement, self-esteem, and relational aggression..
