Summary or Abstract : The study determined mean instructional time and ascertained areas of instructional content devoted to women's occupational health and safety in undergraduate courses of environmental health sciences and occupational health and safety taught at four-year colleges and universities in the United States. The survey was pretested for content and construct validity. Chi-square analysis was used to determine any differences between male and female instructors in instructional content; t-test computed any difference in mean instructional time. Results indicated that males were significantly more likely than females to exclude information on women's occupational health from their courses (p =.02). Though no other findings were statistically significant, the descriptive data was of interest. Fewer than 40 of all instructors taught information on the health and/or safety hazards of female-dominated professions. Male and female instructors devoted 2.8 and 3.1 hours, respectively, during an academic year, to the instruction of women's occupational health and safety.
