Summary or Abstract : The purpose of this research study was to acquire a better understanding of Latina women's journeys of development towards educational leadership and to contribute to the literature related to Latina women. The aim was to learn from the Latinas' life experiences what challenges they faced in order to become successful leaders as educators and administrators as well as a view of the rewards produced from the outcome. Heuristic Inquiry was the methodology used to find the type of journey Latinas travel in their quest to reach their goal: educational leadership. The use of this methodology helped negotiate the use of the researcher's own journey as part of the research. Four Latinas from the Mexican sub-group were invited to participate. Their participation required a background written survey eliciting information about the participants' home, school, and community life. Question and answer personal interviews were video taped to acquire further information about their academic acquisition and deployment. A comparative analysis detailed similarities and differences from the data collected, including the researcher's own story, to get a better view of the panoramic landscape of the journeys where the challenges encountered and the rewards availed produced the expected educational leadership aim. The data collected were then reported in narrative format as is done in qualitative research. Descriptive graphs relative to the Latinas' journeys towards educational leadership as instructional leaders, teachers, mentors, and principals were included..
