Summary or Abstract : The purpose of this concurrent mixed methods study was to collect and analyze the perceptions of students who were enrolled in cooperative education in a Midwestern school district for the purpose of discovering the benefits of teacher coordinators, post secondary education, and career and employability skills. The theoretical framework for the study is cooperative education. The researcher collected detailed information through interviews with 15 former cooperative education students and evaluated the perceptions using a 6-year graduate survey developed by Ivy Tech Community College. Interview transcripts were analyzed using a description of typological analysis design by Hatch. The interview data was coded based on categories related to teacher coordinator, post secondary education, and career and employability skills. Tables, list and graphs were created according to students' responses to each interview question and the 6-year graduate survey. Descriptive statistics were used to determine whether former cooperative education students perceived that their experience in cooperative education was beneficial. The researcher found that students felt that cooperative education was beneficial as it relates to teacher coordinators, post secondary education, and career and employability skills. The implications for social change resulting from this research include benefits that can be realized by local school districts, state program developers, and national level programs by providing information that can be used to improve or change the cooperative education courses that prepare students to be successful in postsecondary education and in the workforce..
