Summary or Abstract : Today's school administrators are faced with leading a myriad of mandated changes to close the achievement gap. The research problem addressed in this study was the lack of research recognizing a significant relationship between teachers' personality types and differentiated responses to change. The purpose of this study was to examine personality types among teachers and differentiated responses to change, and Jung's theory on psychological types served as the theoretical foundation. The research questions searched for a significant relationship between personality types of elementary teachers and their responses to change and for a statistically significant stronger or weaker resistance to change among personality types. Eighty teachers responsible for implementing changes in math volunteered for the study. The Myers-Briggs Type Inventory (MBTI) was administered to identify personality types, and a 12-item questionnaire was used to measure differentiated responses to change. The chi-square and Kruskal-Wallis Test were used for analysis. The analysis indicated no statistically significant differences were found leading to the conclusion no personality type had a statistically significant pattern of distribution relating to a stronger or weaker relationship to change. Social change implications of this study may include enlightening leaders to the differences in personality type. That knowledge should improve their working relationships and ultimately enhance the quality of instruction and the academic success of their students..
