Summary or Abstract : This study investigated self-beliefs including self-determination, self-efficacy, causal attribution, locus of control, theory of intelligence, and confidence in intelligence in 24 adolescent students with disabilities at an urban high school. Primarily it evaluated whether or not relationships exist among the different self-beliefs and then it tested a peer-based intervention called Student Success Seminars to determine whether or not the intervention had an effect on students' self-beliefs. Few correlations among self-beliefs existed before the intervention, but more correlations were evident after the intervention. The intervention did not have a significant effect on any of the students' individual self-beliefs except for causal attribution. The discussion mentions implications for future research on self-beliefs for students with disabilities..
