Summary or Abstract : The purpose of this study was to explore teacher knowledge of terminology and characteristics of the child who is twice exceptional or gifted with learning disabilities and the interventions teachers were using with this population. Methodology consisted of a one-page survey with nineteen questions, filled out by one hundred and thirteen participants. Questions were both open and closed ended. Participants included teachers, student teachers, substitutes, and classroom aides. One hundred of the participants were enrolled in a teacher credentialing program at a local university. Other participants were acquainted with the researcher. Results yielded information pertaining to interventions used in classrooms and teacher knowledge on the subject of twice exceptional students. Implications for future study showed a greater need for more teacher training in the area of giftedness and gifted with learning disabilities. Data also showed that a greater awareness and understanding of behavioral characteristics and teaching interventions was also needed..
